Suzuki Violin Lessons

The violin portion of the Suzuki Method was the first developed and many instruments have been added. The violin curriculum consists of 10 units spanning from Pre-Twinkle (absolute beginner) to major concertos and standard works. There are many supplemental materials and at TSA, alternative styles (such as fiddling and pop) are strongly encouraged once a foundation of technique has been established. Learning does not end when unit 10 is reached, but rather the skill to tackle any piece of music is now present.

Individual violin lessons are offered at the Triad Suzuki Academy. Limited spaces available in Greensboro, NC, Hillsborough, NC, and Kernersville, NC. Please register here and we will contact you to schedule a trial lesson.

The Suzuki Method

Shinichi Suzuki created this method of learning over 60 years ago and it is built upon the foundation that every child can learn to play music at a high level (Talent Education). This method utilizes the early language learning processes, parent involvement, listening, repetition, group learning, and constant encouragement to build musical skill. Read more about the Suzuki method here.

“Teaching music is not my main purpose. I want to make good citizens. If children hear fine music from the day of their birth and learn to play it, they develop sensitivity, discipline and endurance. They get a beautiful heart.”

Shinichi Suzuki

Suzuki Early Childhood Education

Suzuki Early Childhood Education (SECE) is a program that was designed by Dorothy and Sharon Jones at the request of Shinichi Suzuki. This curriculum focuses on children ages 0-3. Children learn a set repertoire of songs through repetition, hand over hand demonstration, and encouragement before moving on to instrumental music at age 4. Read more about SECE here.

The Suzuki Early Childhood Education curriculum is offered through our Soaring With Suzuki program here at the Triad Suzuki Academy. Group classes are available in Greensboro, NC, Hillsborough, NC, and Kernersville, NC based on enrollment numbers for each semester. Click here to enroll.
