In life, each experience and skill plays a part in shaping who we become. At the Triad Suzuki Academy, we believe that learning the violin offers much more than the ability to make beautiful music. With the gentle guidance of our teachers and the principles of the Suzuki method, our students learn three skills along the way: resilience, focus, and working with others.
Resilience is the first, because learning the violin takes patience and perseverance. Each new note and melody brings its own challenges, and students learn to meet setbacks and work through them. At our academy, we celebrate each small victory, and we treat each mistake as a step in learning.
Focus is the second. The Suzuki method asks students to immerse themselves in the music: to listen closely, watch the bow, and stay with a hard passage until it comes. We see that focus grow, lesson by lesson.
Collaboration is the third. When they play in a group, in Group Class and in group performances, students learn to work together, listen to each other, and play their part in something larger than themselves. In a group, everyone's part matters.
At the Triad Suzuki Academy, violin lessons are about more than music.
