Suzuki teaching from Olivia Eakes
Learn with Olivia Eakes, a local professional violinist, using the Suzuki violin method. We teach through listening, reading, and playfulness, in a patient and encouraging environment.
A community that plays together
Group lessons and public performances are part of the experience, with studio recitals and community outings throughout the year. Music becomes a shared family joy.
Music in Summerfield
Summerfield became a town in 1996, and the figure on its Town Seal is a musician. James Gillies, a bugler for General Henry “Light Horse Harry” Lee, lost his life in one of the Revolutionary War skirmishes fought in the area before the Battle of Guilford Courthouse in 1781. Known locally as the “Bugler Boy,” he appears on the seal holding his bugle. Summerfield’s public schools are part of Guilford County Schools, where Greensboro Symphony musicians give concerts in every elementary school each winter.
